Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, protect and share your information.
Last updated: October 2026
Jutt Federation of Pakistan (“JFP”, “we”, “us”) operates the community platform at juttfederationofpakistan.org and the official Jutt Federation of Pakistan mobile apps for Android and iOS. This policy applies equally to the website and the apps, which connect to the same services. It explains what personal information we collect from members and visitors, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We only collect information that is needed to run the community register and the services members ask us to provide.
1. Who we are
Jutt Federation of Pakistan is a community organisation of the Jutt biradari, maintaining a membership register across Pakistan and overseas chapters. The platform is developed and maintained on the federation’s behalf by Softech UK. For any privacy question or request you can reach us through our Contact page or on WhatsApp at +44 7563 888060.
2. Information we collect
- Registration details — your name, title, clan (gotra), home tehsil or chapter, email address, mobile number, date of birth and gender. A CNIC number is optional.
- Verification data — email and mobile one-time codes. For paid Verified Member status, an identity check (KYC) may require an image of your CNIC or passport, handled by a third-party identity provider; we store only the pass/fail result and a reference, not the document image.
- Content you post — matrimonial (rishta) profiles, classified ads, business listings, community notices and any photos you upload.
- Payment references — where you contribute a fee or donation, the transaction reference or receipt you send us (we do not collect or store card or bank-account credentials).
- Technical data — a login session cookie and basic, aggregated visit statistics.
In the mobile apps specifically: the app connects to our servers over the internet and securely stores your sign-in token on your own device so you stay logged in. When you choose to add a photo to a rishta profile or a classified ad, the app asks permission to access your photo library so you can select an image to upload; it only accesses the photos you pick. The app does not access your location, contacts or microphone, does not track you across other apps or websites, and contains no third-party advertising. When you choose to send payment proof, the app simply opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message — you decide whether to send it.
3. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your membership record in the community register.
- To verify that you are a real person and prevent duplicate or fake accounts.
- To provide the services you use — matrimonial matching, classifieds, business directory, community notices, events and unit elections.
- To send you service messages (verification codes, interest notifications, official newsletters).
- To keep the platform safe, moderate content, and respond to your queries.
4. What is public, and what is private
You control your visibility. You can opt out of the public member directory entirely, show only your first-name initial, and your mobile number stays hidden unless you choose to display it. In the matrimonial service, names, photos and contact details are never shown publicly — they are unlocked only after both families accept an expression of interest. We never sell your personal information to anyone.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only where necessary to run the platform: with the identity-verification provider during KYC, and with email/SMS providers to deliver messages you have asked for. We may disclose information if required by law. We do not share your data for third-party advertising.
6. How we protect your information
The site is served over encrypted HTTPS. One-time codes verify your email and mobile, uploaded matrimonial photos are stored on a private area of the server and are not publicly reachable by URL, and access to the administration system is restricted to authorised office bearers. No online service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.
7. Your rights and choices
You may view and update most of your details from your profile, change your directory-privacy settings at any time, and unsubscribe from optional communications. To request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account, contact us through the Contact page.
8. Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and remember your language choice. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
9. Children
Membership is limited to people aged 18 or over; the platform is not intended for children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last changed. Please also read our Terms of Service.
